Who Raised Young Dolph?
The rapper was born Adolph Robert Thornton Jr. in Chicago, Illinois, on July 27, 1985. His family then moved to Memphis, Tennessee, when Dolph was two, and he spent most of his life there. Young Dolph had four siblings: two brothers and two sisters, whereas Juice Wrld was his second cousin.
Dolph’s grandmother raised him and his siblings while his parents were addicted to crack cocaine. As a child, Dolph reportedly only saw his mom and dad every few weeks. The rapper once stated that in the community he grew up in, children were mostly raised by grandmothers.
Adolph Thornton used to attend Hamilton High School, but it is unclear if he graduated.

Young Dolph’s Death
Sadly, the Memphis-based rapper was fatally shot in the city while he was picking up cookies at Makeda’s Homemade Butter Cookies for his mother. He was reportedly shot 22 times by two gunmen in a white Mercedes-Benz. Police responded to the scene, and Dolph was pronounced dead at the scene.
Young Dolph was only 36 at the time of his death and is survived by his wife, Mia Jaye, and their two kids, daughter Ari and son Tre Tre. The family has stayed out of the spotlight since Young’s death, but we hope that they have found peace.
