Who Raised Young Dolph?

The rapper was born Adolph Robert Thornton Jr. in Chicago, Illinois, on July 27, 1985. His family then moved to Memphis, Tennessee, when Dolph was two, and he spent most of his life there. Young Dolph had four siblings: two brothers and two sisters, whereas Juice Wrld was his second cousin.

Dolph’s grandmother raised him and his siblings while his parents were addicted to crack cocaine. As a child, Dolph reportedly only saw his mom and dad every few weeks. The rapper once stated that in the community he grew up in, children were mostly raised by grandmothers.

Adolph Thornton used to attend Hamilton High School, but it is unclear if he graduated.

How Much Is Young Dolph’s Net Worth?

Young Dolph had a difficult childhood but used his experiences in his music. He released “Paper Route,” his first mixtape, in 2008. Then two years later, Adolph established his own independent label, Paper Route Empire, and also released his second mixtape, Welcome 2 Dolph World, the same year. Dolph continued to put out several mixtapes, even developing his own rap flow rather than following the style that other Memphis rappers used.

It was no secret that the rapper was a big car lover, and his videos always had luxury vehicles. Some of his privately owned collections included luxury vehicles such as the Rolls Royce Phantom EWB, Rolls Royce Cullinan, Mercedes Benz Maybach, and Bentley Continental GT, to name a few.

In 2015, Adolph Thornton Jr. released his first studio album, King of Memphis, through his label. While the record was loved by fans, Memphis rappers such as Yo Gotti and Blac Youngsta took offense at the title. This also resulted in Young Dolph releasing a diss track against Gotti. Afterward, Young’s vehicle was reportedly shot multiple times, and a few men were arrested.
