As for his education, P. J. attended and graduated from Northern Valley Regional High School in his hometown in 1992. He then attended Boston College and double majored in finance and theater. Following this, Byrne earned his MFA from DePaul University affiliated, The Theatre School.
As per P. J. Byrne, his father worked for IBM his whole career. And with a finance degree, he too would have become involved in the field as an investment banker. J. had a slew of brief appearances in movies and tv shows such as ER, Haunted, Bruce Almighty, The Lyon’s Den, The West Wing, Bewitched, NCIS, Twins, Four Kings, Walkout, My Boys and Desperate Housewives among many others. He continued to make guest appearances in other television series and played small characters in films for the first decade of his career.
Then gradually, Byrne booked prominent roles and got the chance to showcase his performance in movies such as Extraordinary Measures, Dinner for Schmucks, The Campaign, and Horrible Bosses to name a few. P. J. was then cast in one of the main roles in the 2011 movie Final Destination 5. The movie was well-received and his performance was also praised by many.
