Where Did Lamorne Morris Grow Up?

The New Girl was born on August 14, 1983, as one of the sons of his parents. He grew up alongside his brother, Devon Morris, and the pair were raised by their mother who worked at USPS. Lamorne Morris grew up in the South Side of Chicago before moving to Glen Ellyn in Chicago as a teenager. But not much is known about his father and what their childhood was like.

As for his schooling experience, Lamorne attended Glenbard South High School. He was reportedly a class clown, therefore, Morris was sent to detention multiple times. Like many up-and-coming actors, Lamorne Morris worked as a server at a retro-themed diner while still training at the Second City Training Center. And in his first few years, Morris booked numerous commercials for companies such as Miller Lite, Twix, Taco Bell, Las Vegas, 7 Up, and many more. He also worked as an on-air personality at the cable channel BET, hosting HotWyred. He also hosted daily entertainment and music news shows at BET Now.

Well, Lamorne Morris’s acting career started in 2002 when he voiced Little David in the movie, Urban Ground Squirrels. He then starred in a slew of short films, tv shows, and videos some of which include Insanity, One Word, Sex Love and Lies, The Middle, and The Guild. He also has a small part in the 2009 movie To Have & Have More.

Lamone’s big break came after he was cast as one of the main characters, Winston Bishop in Fox’s comedy show, New Girl. While his character was only introduced in the second episode, Winston became one of the fan favorites and Morris’ performance was well-received. He continued to play the comedic role till the show’s last episode in 2018. Moreover, he directed the final episode of the entire show and had previously co-written an episode.

He also voiced Trog in Human Discoveries and Barber Mo in the video game NBA 2K20. The following year he appeared in the movies, Bloodshot, Desperados, Death of a Telemarketer, and Eat Wheaties. He also started playing the part of Keef Knight that year. The show ended in 2022.

Besides the aforementioned projects, the Chicago native has worked on Call Me Kat, Unwanted, 10 Days, No Activity, American Dad!, Fargo, 19 Weeks, and more. He also has many upcoming projects under his name and will undoubtedly find even more success in the coming days.

Rumors about the duo first started in 2016 and they attended the Emmy Awards in 2017 together, seemingly confirming their relationship.

Moreover, Lamorne Morris’ then-partner, Erin did address the red-carpet appearance and called him her boyfriend.
