Where Did Florence Pugh Grow Up?
The Midsommar star was born Florence Rose Pugh in Oxford, Oxfordshire, England on 3 January 1996. She is one of four children of her parents and grew up alongside her siblings, Rafaela Pugh, Toby Sebastian, and Arabella Gibbins. The actress’s mother, Deborah Macking is a dancer and a teacher while her father, Clinton Pugh is a restaurateur who runs Kazbar, Cafe Coco, and the Grand Cafe.
As a young child, the talented actress suffered from tracheomalacia and got a tube in her trachea to help her breathe properly. Moreover, Florence Pugh’s parents relocated their family to Sotogrande, Spain, with hopes of the warmer climate improving her health. After three years in Spain, Pugh, who was six then, moved back to Oxford.
Soon after returning to England, Florence took up acting and took part in a nativity play in school. She played Mary in the play and also spoke in a Yorkshire accent. For her formal education, Pugh was enrolled at private schools, Wychwood School and later St Edward’s School, both in Oxford.

The talented actress started her acting career when she was still studying in her sixth form. She played a precocious teenager, Abbie Mortimer in the 2014 movie, The Falling opposite another child actor Masie Williams. Florence’s performance was loved by the critics and also earned her a nomination for Best British Newcomer at that year’s BFI London Film Festival.
The following year, Florence Pugh starred in the short film Paradise Lost? and then had a small part in the show Marcella.
