Where Is Emme Rylan From?
The General Hospital star was born Marcy Faith Behrens in Providence, North Carolina, on November 4, 1980. She changed her name to Emme Marcy Rylan legally in 2009 and has since used it in professional and personal capacity.
She grew up in North Carolina alongside her siblings including the late Lara Behrens. Lara sadly passed away in July 2020 after her battle with stage 4 cancer.
Emme Rylan’s father is Richard Behrens and there are reports that her mother is Christine Behrens. However, there is no further information regarding her family life. But we hope that Emme got to experience a lovely childhood.
As for her educational background, Rylan attended the Tyrone Area High School in Tyrone, Pennsylvania. She reportedly graduated in 1999 but if Emme continued her studies to college is unclear.
When Did Emme Rylan Start Her Professional Career?
Talking about her professional career, Emme started her acting journey in 2005 with a brief appearance in the show, Drake & Josh. This was followed by her movie debut in the 2006 movie Armageddon for Andy and her work on Bring It On: All or Nothing.
That same year, Rylan also started playing the character Lizzie Spaulding in the soap opera Guiding Light. She was a series regular and appeared in over 350 episodes before the show was canceled in 2009.
In all of the aforementioned movies and TV series, Emme was credited as Marcy Rylan since she had not changed her name. She was also credited with the same professional name in the 2011 projects namely History, $#*! My Dad Says and Impulse Black.
In 2010, Emme joined the CBS soap opera The Young and the Restless and started playing the character Abby Newman. She was credited as Emme Rylan for the first time while working on the show.
Moreover, she starred in 229 episodes from 2010 to 2013. Rylan was let go due to budgetary cuts in September 2012 but returned to play the part from February to April 2013. She quit the show for good then and was recast with actress Melissa Ordway taking over the part.
Following her exit from The Young and the Restless, Rylan joined the cast of another soap opera, General Hospital. She was a series regular playing one of the main characters, Lulu Spencer. Emme left the show in December 2020, but between 2013 to 2021, she appeared in 617 episodes.
Moreover, while she was also starring in General Hospital, the talented actress also worked on two short films, 2BR02b and Shevenge.
