The 22nd season of the singing competition TV series, The Voice premiered on NBC, on 19th September 2022. And soon after viewers were introduced to many talented singers and performers from different backgrounds. Some have been trying their hardest to break into the music industry for many years, while for others, The Voice was the first time singing in front of a big audience. But whatever category one belonged in, contestants have already gained fans thanks to their first few performances.
Among the many individuals who auditioned for the show and made a big impression on the coaches and audiences themselves is Austin Montgomery. The young guy charmed the viewers with his old soul and amazing voice and people are now interested to know more about him.

Austin was the first contestant to perform in the 6th episode of The Voice’s 22nd season and earned three chairs’ turns after his performances. All three coaches, Blake, Gwen, and Camila, fought hard to convince Montgomery to choose them as his mentor. Gwen went on to say that if he did not choose her, she hoped that Austin joined Shelton’s team as he would help the young guy sharpen his skills.
After much deliberation, the 19-year-old guy from Hemet, California chose Blake Shelton to be his coach. Then for the battle round which started airing on October 10, 2022, Austin was paired to compete against fellow Team Blake contestant Tanner Fussell. The duo sang the 50s song, Folsom Prison Blues by Johnny Cash and despite both of them wowing the judges and audience, Montgomery came out on the top.
